Soap Magic Experiment

How to teach your kids why we use soap, with a fun experiment they’ll think is like magic! You can use it to explain it’s like when we use soap and water to wash our hands, to help push the germs away.

With a little bit of dish soap on a finger,

watch as the pepper moves away!

Simply place water in a tray (I used this one from Target), add some pepper, place a finger in dish soap and tap on the plate. How does this work? Pepper floats on the top of the water but when you add the touch of soap, the soap disrupts the water’s surface tension which pushes the pepper away!
